I learned to appreciate time on the water from my Grandpa on the rivers and lakes of central PA. Hours spent on the banks and on his Sears Roebuck aluminum fishing boat learning about patience, tying knots, getting tangled, getting untangled, swatting mosquitoes, and occasionally spotting and catching fish. I received so many life lessons during that time - most of which I didn't appreciate until later.
I've now lived in Northern California over 20 years and have expanded my experience to the amazing lakes, rivers and creeks in my neck of the woods. The waters are different but the lessons are the same. It is not about catching the fish but the pursuit thereof. It is not about how much time does it take but how much time do I get.
I learn something new every time I go out.
